Friendly staff found us exactly what we were looking for. Good sale prices. No problem with returns. Quick check out. All good.

This review is about the Automotive section not the retail part of the store.I took my car in back in February because it was sounding like my muffler system was falling apart. This was a convenient location for me and I had just moved to town so I took a chance... a mistake I don't intend on repeating. After all was said and done they replaced the muffler system for a decent chunk of money. When I drove it home I noticed something didn't sound right. There was a tapping and I soon figured out the new muffler was banging and rattling up and down, over bumps even turning the car off it would rattle. So I took it back the next day. They had it up on the hoist in a few minutes of me arriving, which I thought was only fair since something didn't seem right with the job they did. After about 10 - 15 minutes the mechanic came out and said he tightened it up and that it might be the wrong part for the car, something about after market parts. Which I thought was odd - wouldn't you know if it fits before putting it on the car? At the very least while your attaching it to the car.Within another day it was back to doing the same thing, I was annoyed to say the least. I kept putting off going back because I had little confidence they would fix it, I pictured a never ending cycle of me going back to get this thing fixed (which should have been done right in the first place, I also didn't have a mechanic that was close, not to mention I spent 800 bucks to get this fixed in the first place) - but not bringing it back is on me.When I finally did bring it back I was told that I owed them $30 for inspection and that the flex hose at the engine needed replacing. I don't normally get upset, especially at retail staff, but I had enough. I kindly told them I was paying for nothing and that they still hadn't fixed the thing I originally brought the car in for. I got the run around saying it was the flex hose - which I was willing to accept might be damaged BECAUSE THE MUFFLER WAS FLAILING AROUND BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T DO THEIR JOB RIGHT.The poor guy behind the counter told me I could bring it back and go over everything with the mechanic but at this point I had had enough of this so I said no. He kindly informed me there was nothing that they could do which I already knew.I took the car to Durham Automotive (on the other side of town) and they fixed me up. Turns out the flex hose was damaged but didn't need replacing (not right away) and the muffler system was tightened too much and was hitting the bumper which was making a lot of noise. I was told that eventually it would have damaged the bumper (it's plastic). I had to pay them $100 to tell me that Canadian Tire didn't do the job right in the first place. I believe in giving people a break and the benefit of the doubt. Mistakes can happen, people have bad days. But I gave them three chances to make things right and they couldn't or wouldn't, which makes them at best incapable of fixing what seems to be a fairly obvious issue (that they caused).

I got to the store and was asked immediately if I needed help to find something. I found this very nice and unexpected. (I live in Hamilton) we don't get that there. I usually have to look for someone to help me. I had a very pleasant experience today. Thank you!

Great prices and you can always find amazing discounts on products in the store they never advertise. Different everyday. Worth the trip because you never know what you will find!!

This is the best Canadian Tire store. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to help you get the product you're looking for. Often they have given me better suggestions like recently for my storage options.
